Blender | Creating a Snow Scene With Sculpting, Particles and Procedural Materials

By January 16, 2014No Comments

Demonstrating his creative process for creating a snowy scene in Blender, Chris Folea adds another installment for his “tutorial Tuesdays”. Chris notes that his tutorial for Making a Snowy Plain is a bit messy, but does show some of what happens when creating final pieces.

This week’s tutorial is a bit messy…

Chris shows how to create a terrain with the sculpting tools in Blender, and uses procedural materials to create lifelike textures the surface of the snow. There are also particles used here for the random and various plants and bushes that peek through the snow. Finally Chris wraps it all up with some lighting and setting up the final renders.
