Using Blender’s MetaBall as Particles Simulating Dewdrops on a Leaf

By March 10, 2014No Comments

Sardi Pax hosts a look at using Blender’s MetaBall as particles that will represent dewdrops on a leaf. He shows how to create a basic leaf model, and place the surface textures.

MetaBalls lend themselves well to a project like this, as they inherently have surface tension much like actually water drops would. The surface tension will affect the dew drops, when they are in proximity of each other, they will tend to join. This will give a more realistic effect to the water drops on the leaf.
