Realistic Architectural Visualization Using Blender Internal Renderer

If you ever needed a clear example of the separation of artistry and tools, Mikhail Rodionov provides one. With this tutorial posted back in August of 2012, Mikhail set out to create and re-create an interior render that was rendered with the high-end renderer V-Ray, Mikhail renders out his own version using Blender’s Internal Renderer. Not Cycles, just the standard renderer within Blender.

If you have ever hear the term “it’s not the car it’s the person driving”, this is a pretty good illustration of that. With a bit of work, tweaking and tricks, Mikhail is able to get a production-viable render from  Blender’s internal renderer, matching the V-Ray render quality of the scene. Mind you there are subtle differences, but still rather impressive. [via blender nation]
