The Rigging Dojo posts a new course, hosted by the CG Monks. You may remember the monks from Maya’s Red9 Open Source series of tools. The CG Monks have always been fans for using MetaData to build out Maya tools.
The course isn’t for the giant of heart though… You need a basic level of understanding of Python, and Maya 2011 or later (note – different maya versions have their own bugs and issues and may introduce new puzzles to solve) along with some sort of Python IDE is recommended. They will use Wing but any will do. The script editor just isn’t a great place to do a lot of coding.
Course Topics
- Red9’s MetaClass and Meta Data overview
- Coding Setup
- Overview of CG Monks implementation as a framework for your own expansion
- Concepts to Learn in order to work with MetaClasses
- Making your own subclass within a MetaClass framework
The course runs $49.99 USD, check out the course page for more information.
