Mark Jackson, Technical Animation Director Crytek UK posts his talk from the Develop Conference, MetaData Coding in a Maya Production Pipeline. Mark is one of the developers of Red9 Studio Tools for Maya, which offers some metadata control and tools as part of the larger Red9 Suite.
Develop Conference 2014 Using MetaData in a Maya Production Pipeline
Mark walks through some of the benefits of integrating MetaData in an Autodesk Maya production pipeline. Red9 Metadata offers a python API as part of the Red9 StudioTools, which is Red9’s freely available open source toolkit.
Mark provides some examples of how MetaData is integrated into Crytek’s Maya animation pipeline, used in the animation rigs as a network to manage data. MetaData is also used in the facial rigs and used to manage relationships in code.
