Follow through and overlapping animation might seem tedious to some. It can be tricky to get the timing correct on objects like a flag, or a character’s tail. I you are animating a tail, there is a little trick that you can use that can make things much easier. Just offset curves in time.
Paul Creamer is the Animation Director at Industrial Brothers, who animate some popular children’s shows. Paul iso doles out animation tips on his YouTube Channel. Watch Paul’s tip for creating easy overlap and follow through when animating a tail. It just takes minutes. Paul is working with Maya in the example, but you can use the tip in any animation program that uses curves.
