PRAGUE, Czech Republic – November 25, 2019 – Today, Chaos Czech releases Corona Renderer 5 for Cinema 4D, with improved memory management for displacement, faster rendering and lower memory needs for caustics, multiple environments for use in LightMix, improved handling of proxies and instances, and more.

The new 2.5 Displacement is now the default on all new scenes, offering significant memory savings for scenes using intense displacement – with no change to a user’s existing workflow. Handling of Proxies and instances now requires less memory and less pre-processing time, making the UI more responsive when working with those as well as improving render times.

Corona Renderer 5 also offers new advancements for caustics workflows. Performance gains now run at up to 20% in scenes that are pure caustics, making the process of rendering lighting effects on pool water, diamonds, and glass even faster.

The new Corona Sky object offers greater flexibility for applying environment lighting to your scene, with options to choose between a Physical sky model, a solid color, or use of any Shader (which includes Noise maps, Gradients, etc. as well as the traditional HDRI). Additionally, the ability to have more than one Corona Sky object means that LightMix can be used for even better results when creating different times of day within just one render.

The new Select Shader and Select Material offer ways for an object to store a “mini-library” of materials that can easily be switched between (manually, or by keyframes), and which the object takes with it from scene to scene.

The update also brings with it an extensive list of other improvements, features and bug fixes, and is compatible with Cinema 4D versions R14 to R21.
