Iridesium shows how to model a skyscraper in Blender and then blow it up.
A new two-part tutorial series by Joel Adams (Iridesium) shows how to model a skyscraper in Blender and then tear part of it down with an explosion. The tutorial covers best practices for modeling with a rigid body simulation in mind.
Part two will cover creating the explosion. While Blender has a few tools that you could use for this, Adams uses Mantaflow in this case. Mantaflow is an open-source fluid simulation framework developed and maintained at the Games Engineering group of the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
