This new tutorial from Bubble Pins shows how you can better control your simulations in Houdini by using a guided sims setup. In Houdini, the RBD tools have a guided simulation feature in the RBD Solver Node that allows you to use an external piece of geometry to influence the fractured pieces in the sim.

The tutorial shows how to destroy geometry using another animated geometry to drive the whole destruction process. The tutorial is a two-part one, where the first part offers all the basics on how to set up and use the Guided Simulations. The second part video will focus on the details parameter settings to improve the Guided Simulation and enhance the quality of your destruction scenes.
