An Introduction to Houdini Crowds

If you are looking to start working with Houdini crowd systems, there is a new tutorial series offered by Houdini’s Senior Product Specialist Luca Pataracchia. This introductory class is a comprehensive one, covering many elements, diving deeper into all of the relevant features. 

This isn’t the first “masterclass” type of series that deals with crowd sims. Side Effects 3D Software Developer Cameron White conducted one of the new workflows for creating crowds in Houdini 15.

This latest dive into crowds covers the aspects of simulation, inducing in-place animation, and locomotion. It also looks into USD and FBX interoperability, using triggers, and methods for art direction.
