Procedurally Scaling Particles in Modo Based on an Object’s Position

By June 10, 2014No Comments

Sergio Mucino walks through creating a procedural set up in Modo where you can scale or affect particles based on an objects position. This will allow for the particles to be affected by an influence or “helper” object directly in the scene – Moving the object will automatically affect the particles, in this case having the particles react with a change in scale.

Sergio created this in Modo after building something similar in 3ds Max, experimenting with some techniques transferring the setup over to Modo. Sergio notes that it is actually an easier set up in Modo largely due to how Modo’s scene graph is laid out.
