How to Create Light Trails in Blender

By April 10, 2015No Comments

Ever wanted to simulate night photography light trails? The Creative Shrimp, Gleb Alexandrov posts a look into using Blender’s Splines to simulate light trails. Think of the light trails that you would typically get from shooting a street at night.

Gleb uses Blender emissive splines and procedural textures to simulate a road at night that has traffic and lights. Check out the tutorial for creating light trails in Blender.

This is part of Gleb Alexandrov’s Open Lighting Project as a smaller piece of the larger whole. The project will eventually be a complete published lighting guide.
