A new tutorial from Christopher Rutledge shares a bunch of useful Houdini Vellum production tips and tricks. Notably, the latest video shows how you can drive vellum with input animation. Rutledge shows how you can have parts of a character animate using mocap while others simulate with the Vellum solver.

Rutledge has all the Houdini files available used in the video tutorial. Another thing of note is that Rutledge is keeping an evergreen doc that is a comprehensive list of Houdini Learning Resources. “I plan to keep updating this doc as time goes on with more resources and also post some of my own tutorials as well,” Rutledge says.
