Visualizing How Procedural Textures Work in Blender

By January 26, 2021No Comments

Santiago Pereira starts a new series helping us master procedural textures in Blender.

One disconnect when working with nodes and procedural textures is correlating the values to the scene’s results. A procedural texture workflow means that there are a lot of attributes that create things parametrically. But what do all these numbers do?

A new tutorial series from Santiago Pereira (Sanctus) labeled as “Mastering Procedural Texturing” in Blender aims to help users better understand the procedural texturing workflow. The first installment covers a visualization of when some of the nodes do. It’s a great way to learn which nodes will do what and why.

Pereira also offered a visualization tool that lets Blender users quickly see what’s happening with your images right in the Blender viewport.
