Animating Sweeping Circles With Shape Layers in After Effects

Mikey Borup shows how to create an intricate looking animation using Shape Layers in After Effects with plenty of secondary animation to simple shapes making them more polished and interesting.

This is a look similar to what you can achieve using the new After Effects preset tool AESweet, and is very much the flavor-of-the-day.

This after effects tutorial is for a style similar to ae sweets, which looks pretty cool, but i’m going to show you how to do some of it on your own

It is always good to understand and learn the foundations of something, and as Mikey notes, AESweet is a great time-saver, but here he shows how you can do this look and effect on your own in After Effects using shape layers and some elbow-greased keyframes.
