how to fix a black multi uv tile in maya viewport

Quake-surviving Ashraf Aiad with a quick work around for Austodesk Maya 2011 where if you are using multi UV tiles, Maya will only show the first UV tile in the viewport, with the rest showing as black. Ashman notes that this is the default behaviour for Autodesk Maya 2011, and it can easily be fixed.

“This is the default behavior for Maya 2011 and that can be easily fixed by going to the Shader Attribute Editor > Hardware Texturing and change the texture channel from Color to Combined Textures.”
