The soon to be released Axsotic 3D sheric mouse, represents a new way of interfacing with 3D applications. The issue now becomes that scene manipulations such as tumbling, zooming and rotating all require direct mouse interactions, so lets say if you have a tool to cut a poly face and you are actually cutting multiple poly faces, you need to use one hand on the keyboard and click the mouse to tumble the scene to continue cutting poly faces. This is where a device like the Axsotic 3D spheric mouse comes into play with a device that is specifically for scene and view manipulations, you are free to continue on with the current tool that you are using without wasting time between scene view clicks, and tool clicks…which seriously ads up to a time saver. I am pretty excited about this, and in the past I have tried things like Keypad Pro for the iPad to control scene views with moderate success, the axsotic 3D spheric mouse re-sparks my interest!

“In a normal 3D-Workflow, you need to serialize navigation steps to move, zoom and rotate, and then finally you can work. With the 3D-Spheric-Mouse you can do all of the steps at the same time. This is possible, because the 3D-Spheric-Mouse gives unlike any other 3D-Controller direct control of your 3D-Navigation, without any failure input. Working with the 3D-Spheric-Mouse feels as natural as drawing with a pen tablet.”
