Simulating Heat Distortion in 3DS Max and a Compositor

By July 18, 2011No Comments

A new post in 3dsMaxHowTos with an intermediate tutorial describing how to create a heat distortion effect of jet wash coming off a jet engine using 3DS Max and in this case Combustion for compositing.

“This tutorial shows how to simulate the effect of heat distortion as seen emanating from a heat source, such as a desert ground or a jet engine. Although the effect starts with a 3D particle system, the end result is best created in post, in an application such as Adobe After Effects or Autodesk Combustion”
