Creating a Building Demolition using PullDownIt for Maya

Silent City provides some Behind the Scenes tutorials centered around the creation of their upcoming web series “the Silent City” and in this particular behind the scenes look, Rubidium Wu looks at the destruction of the Empire State Building using the Maya PullDownIt plugin, and also shows how to render out the scene for After Effects using Maya Mental Ray.

Rubidium Wu writes: This week, we build a low polygon version of the Empire State building in Maya, then add some destruction with the PullDownIt plug-in. Finally, we texture using a photo and render out for after effects with mental ray. This is beginners tutorial, with very basic modeling, and could be a good introduction for people who are wondering how 3d modeling works and how visual effects for films are created.
