Adrian Lazar looks at how to create a an Abacus model in SideFX Houdini with some traditional modeling methods as well as using Houdini’s procedural systems where required.

Adrian Lazar writes: This tutorial is about creating a Counting Frame in Houdini with a certain degree of flexibility. We should be able to change the width, the height and the placement of the counting spheres in a procedural, non-destructive way. The workflow showed in this training video is a mix of procedural and traditional modeling. It also deals briefly with setting up some lights, shaders and a render output.
