Claude Vervoort shows off a custom Softimage ICE node that will drive animation based on sound called the Wave Spectrum ICE Node which he is sharing. Claude Vervoort notes “Maybe I re-invented the wheel but I have been wanting for quite some time to be able to drive particles to the sound of music. So I read up on Fast Fourier Transform, did a couple of false start and finally got something working using Kiss FFT and some Wave Loader code to build a custom ICE Node to do just that.”

Claude Vervoort writes: So here is the tutorial around the Spectrum Wave ICE Node which I used for vimeo.com/41955919. The node and the code is available on github: github.com/claudevervoort-perso/xsi-audio-spectrum If you try the add on, know it is very beta. If you have issues with it, let me know. I’ll see what I can do in the time I have.
