Jimmy Gunawan showing how to create a procedural setup using Maya SOuP Nodes to create a dynamic push pin animation. With a Maya instancer node, a SOuP Point Node, Array to Dynamic SOuP Node, and SOuP’s Attribute Transfer to round out the procedural network.

Check out the tutorial and walkthrough for Creating a dynamic push pin animation in Maya using SOuP here.

Jimmy Gunawan writes: The tutorial started with creating a template for the pushpin. Next, we prepare Maya Instancer node and the Instance to be copied along the points, using Point SOuP. We skip Particles for this setup. Finally, Attribute Transfer SOuP node is used to transfer Weight value that will influence the Scale Y of every instance objects.
