Josh Johnson strived to get motion vectors out of Cinema 4D to use in a NUKE composite along side the NUKE vectorBlur Node, and when he finally came across a viable workflow, he shared it.

In the past I’ve struggled to get C4D’s motion vectors working correctly with the VectorBlur node in NUKE. I’ve seen a lot of other people struggle with this on multiple forums too. I’m very much still learning NUKE so by no means am I an expert with the program but I think I found a useable workflow!

Here, Josh shares a PDF that walks through his process of getting Motion Vectors out of Cinema 4D and into NUKE, and he also provides alternative comparisons with Cinema’s Physical Motion Blur, NUKE’s vectorBlur Node, and Reel Smart Motion Blur Pro (RSMB) in After Effects. Check out the post for Rendering Motion Vectors in Cinema 4D for NUKE vectorBlur Node here.
