Understanding Relighting in NUKE

By October 29, 2012One Comment

Nacho Thomas provides a great look at the ReLighting Process in NUKE explaining what relighting is in the world of compositing, and also demonstrates some of the concepts of Camera and World Coordinates, Normal and Point Position Passes, and provides a general overview of both.

In the following tutorials we will explain the ReLighting Process in NUKE

Nacho demonstrates how to extract Point Positions and Normal Passes from Mental Ray and RenderMan in Maya, and from V-Ray in 3ds Max, and also from Arnold in Softimage. Using the arbitary output variables or AOV’s from the renderings, Nacho shows relighting techniques in NUKE demonstrating workflows for relighting and how you are able to fine tune the lighting for a scene in NUKE after the scene has been rendered in a 3D application.
