Recently Autodesk has release the Maya 2013 Extension release Bonus Tools for Download, and here, Autodesk’s Steven Roselle takes a look at two Bonus Tool features that may have gone relatively unnoticed in previous releases of Maya Bonus Tools – the Draw Split Tool and the Draw Reduce Tool.

a couple of long time BonusTools that a lot of people are still unaware of. It’s actually two different but related tools called Draw Split and Draw Reduce. Here is a quick overview I put together a whille back

The Draw Split Tool provides some really nice features and options for splitting successive faces such as the Multi Slice option which will create even subdivision generated simply by drawing over the faces in any viewport, not to mention the snapping option which will create straight and even edges based on user input.

The Draw Reduce Tool is kind of related to the Draw Split Tool, in that it shares some of same snapping and draw management features, but the Draw Reduce Tools will allow you to interactively draw a region that will reduce the number of faces.

Also as a side note, Autodesk has released the Maya 2013 Extension Release Bonus Tools, which are compatible with Maya 2013.5.
