Paul Everett posts a demonstration of using the Cinema 4D OpenStreetamp Import Plugin he created and shows how to easily take the import to the next level by using Cinema 4D’s MoGraph extrude and Random effectors to create some buildings easily.
This is a quick demonstration of how you can import osm data into Cinema4D and easily do a random extrude using mograph extrude and random effectors
The OSM Importer for Cinema 4D will allow you to import large Open Street Map data sets and convert them into spline objects. The OSM Importer for C4D will also let you interactively filter out elements and only import the relevant data, leaving the object names and type in tact.
The OSM Importer for cinema 4D is available on Cinema 4D Plugins for 99 Eur or roughly $132.00. You can also download and use a trial version of OSM Importer for free which you can find here.
