Creating a Dynamic Jaw Pivot for a Character in Softimage

By May 18, 2013No Comments

TD Survival’s Alan Fregtman provides a short tip for creating a dynamic jaw pivot in Softimage, where you can move and use the jaw controller where you like and have it affect the jaw in various ways.

In this video Alan explains a great trick to have a dynamic pivot position on a deformer

being able to dynamically place the pivot for a jaw in a character will provide the opportunity to experiment with the rotation’s deformation, by simply placing the pivot in a different spot. Alan notes that this technique involves StaticKineState, which is the backbone behind Steven Caron’s famous “Dorito” technique which he will be covering in another video.
