ZBrush | Understanding Spotlight Projection Texturing System and Using it for Sculpting Reference

By November 18, 2013No Comments

The Spotlight feature in ZBrush is meant to provide the ability to paint models with source textures almost as an extension of the ZBrush stencil feature. It can also be used to place reference images close at hand while you are sculpting in ZBrush.

Pat Imrie takes a look at how to bring in images, and lay them out on the canvas and shows how to set spotlight up so that you can sculpt and look at the reference at the same time.

This is a short tutorial on the basics of using the Spotlight feature in Zbrush

Pat notes that Spotlight, when used this way tends to confuse new users in that the sculpting tools in ZBrush seem not to work as you would expect. Check out Pat Imrie’s blog for the post on Using Spotlight for Reference in Zbrush here.
