knald-GPU-Texture-map-genertion-tool
Knald has been in beta for quite a while, and recently has finally seen a release. Knald is a GPU driven application that can generate bake quality textures from any source 2D image at astonishing speeds.

Knald is an ultra-fast GPU powered solution for generating “bake quality” textures from any 2D source texture

Knald uses OpenCL to generate normal maps, displacement or height maps, high quality ambient occlusion maps, derivative maps, and concavity and convexity maps – all in around 5 seconds on a mid-range GPU. Knald claims that by opening an existing HeightMap directly all the other maps are automatically and instantly generated.

Using OpenCL, Knald is open to a wide range of hardware cards and is not really tied to any particular brand or vendor. If your video card supports openCL, then chances are Knald is for you.

Knald comes in a free demo version, a freelance version for $100.00 and a Studio Licence at $200.00 – Knald is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7 & Windows 8
Requires a supported OpenCL compatible GPU
