There are many ways to create liquid or water dynamics in 3D. You have a choice of using particles, dynamics, or even a vertical application for liquid simulation such as RealFlow.
Here, Rui Batista uses the Cinema 4D Cloth system to create the dynamic effect of water sloshing around in a glass container. Cloth dynamics offers an easy way to create a fluid like motion, utilizing the inherent soft body principles of the cloth to simulate the dynamic properties of the liquid.
The Cinema 4D Cloth will not be able to flow outside of it’s container like a fluid simulation, or particles could. But it does represent an easy way to create fairly realistic looking liquid in a container.
