Motion After Effects Script Offers Great and Easy Control Over the Graph Editor

Mt. Mograph’s Matt Jylkka releases a new script for After Effects that might prove to be an essential part of any motion graphic designer’s toolkit. Motion After Effects script offers a panel that houses some most often used controls for animation in After Effects.

Motion adds customizable expressions to your After Effects projects. Control your animation like never before.

The Motion After Effects Script

There are quite a few handy tools that are housed in the Motion After Effects Script interface. The panel is broken down into three sections that can be shown or hidden independently comprised of the categories Motion, Anchor, and Speed.

Motion

The motion area of the panel provides you tools that can assist in creating or manipulating secondary animation of an element in Ae. Choose from Excite, Orbit, Stare, Blend, Clone and more to instantly and automatically add motion to your selected layer or animation channel. Animation can then be modified or re-keyed as needed.

Anchor

The anchor portion offers tools for easily handing the annoying task of editing the anchor position of a layer in After Effects. Motion gives you nine simple buttons for moving the anchor relative to the shape that it belongs to.

Speed

The speed section of the Motion interface holds the key to easily editing the components of animation that you would typically edit using the After Effects Graph Editor. With Motion After Effects Script, you can pretty much never open that part of AE up again.

Motion’s Speed controls allow you to edit the animation graph easily, offering an incredible amount of flexibility in just three small sliders. You need to see the Speed section in use to really appreciate how it can change the way that you work in After Effects.

Using the speed controls also previews the object’s animation at that time, so you can make adjustments easily seeing where the object was and where it will end upo at that frame.

Availability

The Motion After Effects Script is available through Mt. Mograph for $25.00, and as a special introductory promotion, you can receive a $5.00 discount using the code “motion party” until the end of July 2014.
