By August 27, 2014No Comments

When working on an industrial part or object you will inevitably need to do a cutaway view of it to completely explain its process. It is because the models can be quite complex that creating a cutaway effect in Cinema 4D can be challenging.

This is where Jamie Hamel-Smith comes in with his latest 5 min quick tip showing how you can use the slice option in the cylinder primitive along with a bool object, to create an easy cutaway effect in Cinema 4D.

The cutaway effect in Cinema 4D is achieved by animating the slice option’s properties over time. This can create a slice that essentially grows out of the shape and can rotate around its central point.
