Setting Up a Stable and Automated Pole Vector for an IK Leg in Maya

Denny Lindberg was tired of constantly moving Maya’s Pole Vectors around with the character rig and proposes a new set up which will allow you to pose characters much faster by using an automated pole vector.

This automated pole vector set up in Maya has the benefit of being very stable. Denny notes that his method offers a flexibility in that you can mix it with pretty much anything you want – There are no custom nodes used here, only constraints and hierarchies in Maya.
