Maya to PSD can Generate a Photoshop Selection from a Selection of Maya UV’s

Why Maya to PSD? Wouldn’t it be convenient to select something in Maya’s UV texture editor and have that selection show up in Photoshop, making it easy to find your way around the UV map?

Maya to PSD is a little script, written by Buliarca Cristian, that can take a selection from Maya’s UV texture editor and transfer that selection over to an open Photoshop document containing the UV snapshot.

Maya to PSD can take selected edges, faces and objects from Maya, and create paths and selections in your corresponding Photoshop document. This can be great for easily finding selections in larger, more compact UV maps where corresponding shells would be harder to recognize… or for people who constantly create messy and willy-nilly UV layouts. If you are either of these, you should check out the Maya to PSD script that should work on both Mac and Windows systems with Maya 2011 and up.
