OctaneRender 2.1 Adds Render Passes and a Scriptable Node Graph SDK

It wasn’t too long ago when OTOY advanced OctaneRender to house more production driven features. OctaneRender 2 added crucial features such as a viable motion blur and OpenSubDiv support.

Without missing a stride, OTOY recently released Octane 2.1, adding some community and user requested features. Octane 2.1 now includes a scriptable made graph SDK for developers. Scriptable nodes within OctaneRender.  LUA-based scripting paves the way for some practical applications that go beyond rendering alone – such as incorporating physics and dynamic engines, such as  Pixelux’s Digital Molecular Matter (DMM) or interactive engines like Epic’s Unreal Engine.

Render-Layers

Another great new feature in OctaneRender 2.1 is the render pass output for lighting layers. You can now render images for each render pass element, like reflection, refraction, normal, indirect and direct lighting, just to name a few.
