Imagineer Systems posts a webinar replay, showing some advanced tips & techniques with mocha Pro & After Effects. Curious Turtle’s Ben Brownlee walks through some real-world examples.

some real-world examples of using mocha in conjunction with After Effects and Boris Continuum Complete

Now that Imagineer and Boris have merged, we are starting to see how Mocha and Boris Continuum can be used together. Ben shows using mocha in conjunction with After Effects and Boris Continuum Complete to tackle a number of challenges with a focus on image restoration and beauty work.

One example that Ben covers is adding a sun flare to an outdoor scene. Boris’ plugin makes short, short work of obscuring the flare through the trees, by using the source image’s RGB values.

Mocha Pro, although similar to the bundled version of mocha that comes with After Effects, does have some higher end features. One of the most useful for visual effects is the remove module which uses a track and a clean plate to remove unwanted elements from your shot. For a complete list of the features that the various versions of Mocha have, you can check out this handy chart that offers a comparison.
