Building 3D objects requires to know, what to build. Where the object or model shows up in the scene, will dictate what needs to be modeled out and what does not. Obviously, something that is closer to the camera needs to have the details there to support being that close to the camera.

you how you can create a tyre profile with nothing more than 2 tile shaders.

Objects or models that are further away from the camera, traveling faster, or only in view for a few frames, don’t need to have all the details modeled out.

As an example of this is the tire of a car. Here CyBear shows how you can create all the visual cues and profiles of a tire, without having to model any of it. By simply using two tile shaders in Cinema 4D, you can create what looks to be all the tire detail that you would need for medium to lower res object space in your scene.

CyBear also covers a few of the advantages you would be from using xRed objects in C4D, and how you can fix the strange lines that might happen when you use physically smaller tiles in bump maps in C4D.

In this tutorial I will show you how you can create a tyre profile with nothing more than 2 tile shaders. I also show some advantages of xRef objects and how you can get rid of weird lines when using small tiles in Bump Maps
