Generate a Vertex Map based on Point Level Velocity in C4D

London-based 3D Generalist Florian Thamer shares a tip on how to use the Point Level Velocity Vertex Map Xpresso script to generate a vertex map that is based on how fast each point travels.

Florian walks through creating a Point Level Velocity setup in Xpresso that uses thinking particles to calculate the velocity for all the points in the system. This is not a new concept. It was one laid out by Yader a while ago.

Florian shows how to use the PLA Vertex Map XPresso script to generate a vertex map that is based on each point’s velocity. All of the point’s speed value will determine how much weight is applied to the vertex map.

Once you have a dynamically generated vertex map like this, all kinds of cool things are possible with it.
