Bart?omiej Ot?owski posts a new tool for After Effects, the Layer converter. If you have ever wanted to converter a standard After Effects layer into something else, such as a null or a point light, this is the thing for you.

Layer Converter will automatically convert your layer selections in one click. This is a great companion to something like Plexus, where you can replace every type of layer into a bill object or a light, for easily adding geometry to your scene.

Layer Converter features:

  • Works with all types of layers.
  • Converts multiple layers at once.
  • Works with 2D and 3D layers.
  • Copies every type of keyframe.
  • Converts selected layers to Null objects or Point Lights.
  • Copies rotation, position and orientation (from 3D layer) of selected layers.
  • Changes Light’s name to ‘Emitter #(index number)’
  • Brings back the layer order
