Motion Array offers a handy little preset for giving a layer the appearance of an extruded in After Effects — The Extrude Preset.
The freely available Extrude Preset, works very similar to their “long shadows” preset, only creating more of a 3D extruded look.
The preset works differently than scripts that offer a “fake” 3D look by stacking layers together so the objects can rotate in three dimensions. The Motion Array preset offers more of a stylized motion graphics flat-style 3D look to the layer.
Here, Motion Array, Tyler Williams has a look at how to use the Preset, which can give you some pretty cool results.
