One of the greatest features for the new Motion Graphics Toolkit in Maya, is the fact that you can nest MASH networks together. This make a few simple networks come together to create some really amazing things.
What if you added elections to a nested MASH network? The result is obviously pretty great. Here, Chris Hardcastle runs through a project that was created with MASH in Maya. Chris shows how you can connect several MASH networks using a component selections and a 3D Volume noise. In the end, you have a pretty versatile rig.
The example in the video was created using Maya 2017, but This technique should also work in Maya 2016 Ext 2. Actually, there is a typo in the UI where ‘Component Selection Set’ will read ‘Vertex Selection Set’.
