Track a Moving Object in C4D R18 With the Object Tracker

By December 21, 2016No Comments

With the Cinema 4D R18 release came an expanded tracking toolset. C4D has had camera tracking for a while now, with the motion tracker. The same brilliance and ease of use comes to a new object tracker system in R18.

With the new tracker you can rebuild the camera motion from live action footage, and any number of objects. Essentially you can transform a video to a 3D scene. The object tracker lets you reconstruct the object based on tracks or reference geometry. Great for a lot of stuff.

How does it all work? Watch Digital Meat Samuel Winter walk through the process for using the new tracker in C4D R18. Sam uses a simple marker in the shot to track an object onto. New features like the object tracker makes C4D visual effects workflows mach more streamlined.
