Blackbird VFX created FX shots for the TAC Australian Transport Accident Commission) commercial spot, posts a look into some of the process behind the project. The TV Spot shows some of the outcomes in a traffic incident at various speeds. As one long camera move, the spot is a freeze frame of activity telling the story of the same incident from avoidance to other, more terrifying outcomes.
CG lead and Lighting Technical Director Wayne Osborne shows off some of the process from previs to shooting real cars thrown into real poles, to the CG elements and compositing that got the spot to its final stages. Some great stuff here!
