A Quick Setup to Unfold Clothes in C4D

Sam Tato Shares a Quick Technique to Unfold Clothes in C4D Using Deformers.

Cloth effects usually mean Softbody or cloth dynamics, but not always. As with virtually anything in 3D, there is more than one way to get things done. For example, folding and unfolding clothes in Cinema 4D doesn’t mean that you need some complicated system reliant on dynamics. That is the subject of Freelance 3D Modeler, Animator, and Materials artist Sam Tato’s latest tutorial showing how to unfold.

Adding to his minute-long tutorial series, Tato shows a quick technique for unfolding clothes with Cinema 4D using the Morph, Bend, and Jiggle deformers. Yes, that means that cloth simulations are not even involved here. Check out more of Tato’s 1-minute tutorials here.
