Find the Right Icon for Tools With Maya IconFinder

Felipe Ramirez’ IconFinder Lets You Collect the Icons Maya Uses and Extract Them for Your Tools.

Some people find that if you write and script your very own custom tools in Maya, giving it a recognizable icon for the tools shelf always seems like a hassle. How many of your custom shelves have the default Maya icon to them? Felipe Ramirez must have tired of finding the right image for buttons in Maya because he created a free tool called IconFinder.

The script lets you easily list all the icons that are used by Maya. You can search and filter the list and extract the images to see the full path, so they are much easier to find and use. Once you’ve found an icon that you would like to use, right click it to extract it and export it to a custom folder.

IconFinder is free for Maya 2017/2018, check it out here.
