Steven Roselle offers a deep-dive into Maya’s retopo workflows.

It wasn’t that long ago that Maya added some new retopo tools that help to automate the process. The two new tools are ReMesh and Retopologize. With his latest tutorial video, Autodesk’s Steven Roselle offers some insights into some of the retopo workflows that are possible.

The video covers some hard-surface modeling examples and shows how auto modeling tools can help speed up a lot of processes. Also shown is a character workflow where you can quickly iterate on a rough model and use a retopo workflow for more manageable edge flow. There are some great ideas here.
