Having glyphs come on the screen over time is an easy task in Adobe After Effects, thanks to the text animators. Yet, if you are looking to create a more nuanced animation, like a typewriter effect, that could mean more work.

A new preset from Chris Zachary can make that type of animation a bit easier. The preset is super-handy and straightforward.

“I find myself animating typing text in After Effects pretty frequently, so I decided it was time to make my own preset,” Zachary says about the Ae tool. “This one includes a customizable blinking cursor and the ability to do custom easing on the animation.”
