Create an Animated Fire Trail in Blender

By July 31, 2020No Comments

Blender Made Easy looks into using constraints, dynamic paint, and Mantaflow to create a fire trail.

Create a write-on effect with fire! A new tutorial from the Blender Made Easy Channel shows how you can make a fire trial in Blender, using a few stacked effects. The tutorial covers working with curves and curve constraints, Blender’s Dynamic Paint modifier, and finally, Mantaflow for the final fire simulation.

Blender’s Dynamic Paint modifier is a useful one that can turn objects into a painted canvas, brushes, and other things. In this tutorial, DP is the foundation for the fire simulation. Mantaflow is Blender’s new gas, smoke, fire, and liquid simulator that puts Blender’s old system into retirement.
