How to Use the Arnold Light Blocker Working in Maya

Lee Griggs shows how to work the Arnold Light Blocker to create compelling looks in renders.

Autodesk’s Arnold Rendering Specialist Lee Griggs runs through some of the features of the Light Blocker filter available for Arnold light sources in Maya. The Light Blocker allows you to block out light using a widget in the viewport, letting you control where light does and doesn’t fall.

Some Light Blocker features may seem similar to using a Gobo but a little less restrictive, as you can move the blocker independently of the light source.
