How to Create an Animated Metaball Effect With MASH and The Bifrost Graph in Maya

3D Splanchnic shows how to use MASH and a Bifrost volumes workflow to create an Animated Metaball effect in Maya.

This new tutorial from 3D Splanchnic shows how to create an animated Metaball effect in Maya. The process uses MASH for instancing, animation, and Bifrost to work with and remesh volumes.

With the Bifrost Graph in Maya, it’s easy to turn any mesh into a volume and then turn that volume back into a mesh. The result is a classic surface-tension effect similar to a Metaball workflow.

Previously, 3D Splanchnic showed how to use a simple Ae Effect to outline the Metaball results. Visit that tutorial here.
